Bluewater Publications of North Alabama is offering a one-day workshop to writers in the area to share our professional knowledge of the current state of the book-selling industry.

Would you like to understand the differences between traditional publishing, hybrid publishing, and self-publishing? We are going to go over the publishing avenues and what you need to know about them, what to watch for in the right publishing partners, and how to find the best options for your ambitions as a writer. We will also share resources and information on how to connect with the right talent for your projects and goals.

You will have the opportunity to hear from an editor and learn about what it is like to collaborate with someone whose job is to critique your work. We will discuss the differences between developmental editing, line editing, and proofreading, and why it’s important to have your manuscript edited by someone other than a friend with great grammar skills.

We will also go over book design and the details you must consider when creating a book cover or selecting from the endless options for interior layout. We will actually evaluate several covers and discuss the necessity of visuals in your book.
